I have created a “TREATS” download!
The original family wall hanging was done using scrape book paper and vinyl letters. For the “TREATS” sign, I turned the original sign around, using the back of each block, designed the letters in Photoshop, and then printed out on glossy photo paper.

ReplyDeleteWouId you be kind enough to tell me what fonts you used for the words "TREATS" and "FAMILY" I have a cricut and would love to cut them out with vinyl since my printer and computer have been crashed and I cannot seem to get them to be compatible again. I have a piece of left over board from a building project that a neighbor gave me and I thought I could put it on that. I apprecaite your help.
ReplyDeletelaxmom~ The font on the "Family" is a combination of both upper and lower case Chocolate Box Decorative and for the "TREATS" sign I honestly don't remember.

ReplyDeleteTamika~ The rod is setting on two long screws. I only screw them in the wall part way (enough to be sturdy) but still allow the rod to set on the them. With black paint (or the same color as your rod) and a little paint brush it will disappear. You can read more in this post.

I love these. But I have a question....I'm a new crafter. You mentioned cutting the blocks from molding. What are the blocks made of? Sorry for the silly question! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteBeth~ I used some old base moulding that was removed from a room makeover. I started by cutting the base moulding into the height that I wanted, each block is between 2.5 to 5 inches. Next, I cut off the decorative top part of the moulding and to give me the over all width. I was just recycling and using what I had around the house. You could always use a 1x3 or 1x4 pine board and cut to your desired height. Hope that helps.

ReplyDeleteWhen you attached the ribbon to hang, did you glue it to the back or some how attach it to the top of the block? I am guessing the top since you used the backs for "Treat" and if so how did you get it to stay so well.

Love this! I was wondering where I can get other letters for the download. I want to do last names for my parents and grandparents.
ReplyDeleteI did this at Halloween for my mom using Trick on one side and Treat on the other! That way she can flip it over if she wants! Rookie mistake though I only flipped the blocks over before writing the second word so Treat is spelled backwards! She can still move them on the curtain rod though :D

ReplyDeleteGreat holiday decor! I'm going to use 1"x4"x4' boards that I got for $.50 each at the cut table scrap bin in Home Depot for $.50 each. I want to make several sets with back-to-back holiday words like Treats & Thanks and Gloria! & Resolve so I can just flip the rod.
